Project Summary
Built in the 1470s, Gordon Castle sits in the heart of Speyside in the county of Moray. In order to ensure its maintenance with a viable new use, ak|a were involved with a propsal to restore and refurbish the Orangery.
The Orangery is category 'A' listed in common with the mansion house and gate piers, and our proposals will provide a reception space linked to catering and washroom facilities along an existing courtyard pend.
Taking into consideration all the original detailing and materials, ak|a have put a scheme together to respect this historically important structure. Our proposals will give the space a commercially viable new use and ensure its maintenance.
The proposals value the original architecture of the Orangery, and feature minimal alterations carried out in a respectful manner.
