A contemporary new build near Ellon has obtained planning permission. The use of simple vernacular forms and materials create a building that will sit well within its rural setting.
Nestled within trees the building has been orientated to take advantage of views from the site and solar gain. The house has a full height living space with ridge glazing to
allow light to flood in and the open plan arrangement allows for a sociable environment. Large glazed opening areas encourage an indoor/outdoor connection.
The composition of house and garage works well on the site and creates a courtyard on arrival to the site. The building will be heated using an air source heat pump and will be well insulated.
