Cottage at Rothiemay
A proposed design to restore and extend a traditional lime and stone cottage to create a sustainable contemporary family home is in its initial stages. Situated in beautiful countryside and sheltered by mature trees, the redundant croft building sits to the east of a slope. The extension will be cut into the landscape to complement the existing cottage and joined by a glazed link. Natural materials will be used throughout and heating provided by a ground source heat pump. The design aims to retain the character of the cottage while creating new accommodation in the rural tradition.
