Planning permission is in place for a four bedroom house with a strong vernacular form on a challenging north facing and steeply sloping site. The proposal takes full advantage of the existing contours by setting the dwelling into the slope. The building will be carefully orientated to collect sunlight and to exploit the fine views to the north. Underfloor heating will be provided by a biomass boiler burning wood pellets and hot water will be provided by solar panels.
