Ferniebrae Steading West, Durno
Based upon the clients' interest in prehistoric archaeology, a design is proposed for a new Neolithic-inspired roundhouse to be built in the rear garden of an existing dwelling. The garden building will have a ‘green roof’, thick mid-height drystone walls, horizontal timber cladding and chunky timber beams above. The new structure will be aligned with the Bennachie Mither Tap on its south-west axis and will change in character towards the south to admit sunlight and fine views.

Ferniebrae is a haven for native flora and fauna. Any further development of the steading will respect the ecology and biodiversity of the location.
