Drawings - AKA provides: measured surveys, the development and production of sketch schemes, drawings to support planning permission applications, building warrant drawings, detail drawings for construction.

AKA's Renewable Energy Services complement the practice's low energy design ethos and commitment to sustainable architecture. AKA can offer advice on the range of options available and pinpoint the most appropriate renewable energy technology for a particular site or design, whilst also taking into consideration any economic, social or environmental implications.

Energy efficient building design can make a significant contribution towards solving global environmental problems. Designs can include the specification of renewable energy technologies such as: solar thermal and photovoltaic systems, wind and hydro turbines, rainwater harvesting, reed bed sewage processing, wood burning stoves, ground source heat pumps.

These technologies are associated with a number of environmental benefits, including the reduction of CO2, as well as financial savings and increased fuel security. Innovative and environmentally friendly systems can be more expensive to install than other 'standard' technologies, but often prove to be more cost-effective long-term with an easily calculable payback time. Grants are available to contribute towards costs.

AKA's Renewable Energy Services include: options appraisals and initial feasibility investigations reporting on: energy generation, CO2 reduction and wider environmental benefits, operation and maintenance requirements, financial costs and savings, liaising with manufacturers/installers, support in applying for grants and funding, support in obtaining necessary consents (where applicable).
