Paul McWilliams
Paul is a chartered architect. He gained an Honours degree at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow and then went on to study at the Scottish Centre for Conservation Studies at Edinburgh College of Art. Following the completion of a Post-graduate Diploma in Architecture & Architectural Conservation, he won the Andrew Grant Bequest Award.
Paul began his professional career at Simpson & Brown Architects in Edinburgh. During this time he worked on a variety of projects, including the restoration of a 16th century townhouse at Law’s Close in Kirkcaldy and the conversion and alteration of the 19th century Newhaven Fishmarket in Edinburgh. Paul later joined Aedas Architects and was involved in a Scottish Courts project which followed the principles of minimum intervention within a World Heritage Site.
Paul joined AKA in November 2008. He lives in Aberdeenshire with his wife Fiona and their children Eilidh and Euan.
